A Huge Response Across the County
The response to this year’s nominations has been nothing short of exceptional.
We have received 216 nominations spanning 27 different clubs across Tipperary, a clear reflection of the depth of talent currently coming through at minor level. Every corner of the county is represented and the spread of clubs underlines just how competitive and vibrant the Minor Championship was throughout 2025.
These nominations were not handed out lightly. Each name on the list earned their place through performances, consistency, attitude and commitment across the season.
More Than Just a Name on a List
Being nominated is about far more than individual ability alone.
Each nomination is a recognition of the unseen hours, the early mornings, the long evenings and the constant commitment that surrounds minor hurling and football. It reflects the dedication of parents who ferry players to training and matches week after week. It acknowledges the countless voluntary hours put in by coaches, selectors and mentors who give their time to develop young players. And most importantly, it recognises the effort, discipline and hunger shown by the lads themselves.
At minor level, nothing is handed to you. Every performance is earned and every bit of progress comes through work.
This Team of the Year is about celebrating that work.
How the Voting Works
Supporters are asked to select a full fifteen, not just one or two names. This ensures balance across positions and rewards players who contributed across the entire pitch throughout the league campaign.
There is no restriction on voting, so clubs are encouraged to rally support, share the link widely and get everyone involved. Teammates, classmates, neighbours, extended family, anyone who followed the past Minor season closely can have their say.
The aim is simple, to reflect the collective view of the wider Tipperary GAA community.
Recognition That Matters
For many of these players, this will be their first county wide recognition. That matters.
Being shortlisted and potentially making a Team of the Year is a marker of progress, a confidence boost and a reminder that performances are being noticed beyond the boundary lines of their own club pitches.
It also sets a standard. It shows younger players coming behind them what is possible through commitment and consistency.
