14.Moyle Rovers
Considered by many in the know to be Poorest on this list and already in a spot of bother, having been beaten last night (Friday 04/08) by Commercials Second Squad on a scoreline of 3-12 to 0-04.
13.Loughmore/Castleiney
Lack of strength in depth and being pulled in all directions in both codes have Loughmore here, A poor campaign last Year also doesn’t help, in the 6 team of group 3,so one or two results might keep them alive.
12.Jk Brackens B
Similar to Loughmore dependent on players not playing Senior plus the hurling thrown in the mix also, good underage teams in recent years so can’t be written off, also in Group 3.
11.Clonmel Og
Drew with Fr. Sheehys in the South Championship which should give them something to work with here, they have a difficult Round 1 assignment V Grangemockler/Ballyneale in Monroe this coming Bank Holiday Monday at 2 Pm.
10. Fr.Sheehys
Another in danger of getting involved in a relegation battle , the addition of ex minor hurler Cathal English this year is a big bonus, they play Fethard in Monroe this coming Bank Holiday Monday at 3:30 Pm.
9. Mullinahone
We had them placed much higher until they lost last night, (Friday 04/08) to a Sars team up from Junior on a score line of 1-11 to 1-15
A Good season last year until a heavy final defeat, A poor league and South campaign as well in 2023 means they will have to bounce back and quick.
8.Thurles Sarsfields
Just up from Junior and after beating Mullinahone in Rd 1 there’s more scope for progress, numbers and recent under age success means they have the potential to go Senior, soon.
7. Fethard
One of the traditional Football Powerhouses in Tipperary that have fallen off recently, they had a just ok league and South campaign. A must win game for them v Fr.Sheehys on this coming Bank Holiday Monday.
6. Moyne/Templetuohy
Could be dark horses to return to Senior after a 2 year gap, the fortunes of their Hurlers may have a bearing on their progress with Conor Bowe crucial to their chances, a physically fit hard working team.
5. Clonmel Commercials B
Their season will depend on how many players are used at Senior but still will be there or thereabouts as witnessed by their 3-12 to -0-04 win over Moyle Rovers last night.
4. Golden/Kilfeacle
Semi finalists last year but seem to concentrating on hurling this Year?, Played in the 2023 Senior league but were poor, as a well as a heavy defeat in West. A win tonight v Moyne though, could kick start their year in a big way.
3.Galtee Rovers
Heavy defeat to Aherlow in the West Championship already but proved to be contenders in recent years and Group 3 looks winnable for them.
2.Aherlow
A very experienced team but might lack fitness in long run, had a very good league and west campaign, in Group 3 also.
1 Grangemockler/Ballyneale
Favourites to win it again ,A great young team but may lack the experience to get it done over more battle hardened outfits. Clonmel Og up first.
