Tipperary Intermediate Hurling Power Rankings ahead of this coming Weekend.
With some groups starting to take shape and others still all to play for Round 3 is gonna be one hell of a ride.
- Golden/Kilfeacle – A constant in everything they do. Led more or less from start to finish in notching their second win against Kilsheelan. Were ten up at one point. The concession of late scores is a worry though – No Change
- Borrisokane – The North runners up have put a fine campaign together and have already qualified for the knock out stages. Top and no prelim to worry about. Oisin Larkin is really hurling for them at the moment. Up 4
- Knockavilla Kickhams – The Dundrum side are going about their business efficiently. Dealt with the Clonoulty challenge easily enough and are happy top of the group and straight to a quarter final. Up 1
- Cappawhite – Have two wins but faltered in round 2 against Skeheenarinky. Were behind for a lot had a man sent off and an injury to Conor Martin makes their round 3 tilt with a resurgent Moyle Rovers all the more tricky. Down 2
- Kilsheelan/Kilcash – Will be disappointed with the performance against Golden. A late goal and points brought the score respectable. Barry Kehoe featured though which is encouraging. Will beat Ballybacon & qualify. Down 2
- Shannon Rovers – A few years ago the Rovers ended up in relegation but what people didn’t want to realise was the group contained the 3 favourites for the competition in Boherlahan, Kilsheelan & Moneygall. The North side have steadily improved since. They will trouble Golden at the weekend but will need the Prelim in our opinion. I wouldn’t like to be drawing them. Down 1
- Ballingarry – Got up and running against Drom in round 2 and with Dylan Walsh bouncing around the sideline he should in running to feature in a winner take all game with Clonoulty in Round 3. The one to avoid in the quarters. Up 1
- Skeheenarinky – Really put Cappawhite to the pin of their collar and will be disappointed not to come away with something. Led by seven just after the break. Will make the Quarters going on other results in the group. Up 1
- Arravale Rovers – No relegation for the Tipp town side this year and a chance of a quarter final birth with a round 3 battle with Carrick Davin. Orrin Jones scorer in chief. A close call in this one. Up 4
- Carrick Davin – Lost in Round 2 disappointingly to Borrisokane. Were down 16 at one stage but that fighting spirit to cut the deficit will be needed in their winner takes all showdown with Arravale. No relegation worries will be an ease to them. No Change
- Moyle Rovers – The surprise of the round the last day. A huge victory over Portroe will certainly add confidence, Kevin Grace with 3-05. Have nothing to lose now against Cappawhite with the score difference ensuing relegation shouldn’t be an option. Up 2
- Clonoulty/Rossmore – A decent performance against one of the favourites Kickhams but in truth never looked like winning. You’d have fancied them to have a cut off Ballingarry but lost players to the seniors since. The win over Drom ensures survival though. No Change
- Portroe – A terrible round 2 sees them plummet. Hard to see where they will find the resolve to get a result against Skeheen but they will need to believe they can. Over Reliant on John Sheedy. Is Robert Byrne out of position? Down 6
- Newport – Two relegations in a row looms. Can’t happen can it? Need to get something going in round 3 against fellow North side Borrisokane. Down 3
- Ballybacon/Grange – Not offering anything from general play. Cummins still scoring and two from puckouts the last day. Hard to see them doing anything against Kilsheelan and another relegation battle on the horizon. No Change
- Drom/Inch – Looked a beaten docket against Ballingarry who were without Walsh. It’s always hard with a second team with the schedule. Drom are in relegation an it will take all their power to avoid the dreaded drop. No Change
