Senior Hurling Championship 4th Edition after the 3 Round Robin Games.
What a great Senior Hurling Championship… Remarkably, with the round robin over, there is still 14 clubs with upcoming action. A bumper bonus for the coffers with 3 very exciting preliminary quarters on the weekend Sep 20/21. A team in relegation with a realistic chance of being in the top 8. Thurles Sars & Borris are the only two teams with their boots hung up and a long winter of reflection. The U21 in both clubs will be a good watch.
Mullinahone, Roscrea & Lorrha are playing a waiting game as Clonoulty try to plot a course through a prelim route. It is definitely a plus for the West men that their fellow relegation battlers are hanging around and may only get a weeks notice of a relegation game. And then we have Loughmore. 3/3 in the round robin. Just got through it, no issue, no fuss. Job Done. On we go. Toome on the march also. A dangerous opposition. Lets see what we think…

|---|---|---|---|
| Club | Total Score | Goals & Points | Average |
| Loughmore/Castleiney | 97 | 7-76 | 32.33 |
| Holycross/Ballycahill | 86 | 8-62 | 28.67 |
| Toomevara | 84 | 2-78 | 28.00 |
| Drom/Inch | 83 | 7-62 | 27.67 |
| Moycarkey/Borris | 82 | 7-61 | 27.33 |
| JK Brackens | 80 | 5-65 | 26.67 |
| Nenagh Eire Óg | 80 | 6-62 | 26.67 |
| Kilruane McDonaghs | 77 | 2-71 | 25.67 |
| Thurles Sarsfields | 75 | 4-63 | 25.00 |
| Lorrha/Dorrha | 73 | 7-52 | 24.33 |
| Cashel KC | 73 | 3-64 | 24.33 |
| Clonoulty/Rossmore | 71 | 5-56 | 23.67 |
| Borrisoleigh | 67 | 4-55 | 22.33 |
| Kiladangan | 66 | 5-51 | 22.00 |
| CJK Mullinahone | 62 | 4-50 | 20.67 |
| Roscrea | 60 | 2-54 | 20.00 |
16. Mullinahone – Fall into the bottom spot. Lost out to Nenagh in Round 3, not a huge surprise in itself. Scoring 2-11 in that though will be a worry. Will need to pull something out of the bag. Jack Shelly made a return though, the extra couple of weeks might suit fitness wise. Eoin Fennelly also making a return? Down 1
15. Roscrea – Darragh Tynan a big help in the last round. Really firing with 0-11 of a total from play. Another team that will need all on board to stay up. Scoring 0-20 v Kilruane in Round 3 though, will give some bit of confidence. Would prefer this relegation situation to be over and done with quickly. It mightn’t happen. Up 1
14. Lorrha/Dorrha – Struggling defensively, worst team defensively in the Senior Hurling Grade, Need to plug leaks. Have the weapons up front though,10th best attack and will be one to avoid when the draw is made. Cian Hogan is motoring well upfront but is he possibly missed elsewhere ?. Also may now have a cause. Did Conor Kennedy miss out on a Tipperary U20 call up? Down 1
13. Clonoulty/Rossmore – Round 3 will have given the West men a lot of confidence.13 scorers so far in the Senior Hurling Championship. They won’t worry about what Holycross did or did not have out. This was about a performance and they got it. Also the only team of the 4 to win a game in 2025(won 2). And We won’t bet against them winning another, next time out. Up 1
12. Borris-Ileigh – Like Clonoulty they won’t care what the opposition had out. This was about doing their bit. They went into the round with a sliver of a chance of progression. Roscrea weren’t able to help out though.Eddie Ryan saving the best till late with a 1-15 performance. But still the best performance of their year. Back to basics a bit for Borris with Conor Kenny a focal point up front. Disappointing year again, though for the Cocks of the north. No Change
11. Thurles Sarsfields – Missed out on progression by 1-point. We’ll say it again, a great competition. Sars will be a bit miffed over the lack of injury time but all the same hadn’t had a stellar year by any means. Still to win 2 games and not go through is very harsh. Down 6
10. Kiladangan – An abysmal performance against recent foes Toome. Just never got going. Did having the knowledge of a preliminary Quarter Final cause them not to be at full tilt ?. Time will tell. Prelim upcoming. Will relish it and hope it springs them into action. Third worst attack a concern. Down 6
9. JK Brackens – A team on the slide after their Mid Final win. Just can’t seem to get anything going at the moment. Like Kiladanagan they will be hoping to get things going in the preliminary Senior Hurling Quarter Final and if they do will be a handful for anyone. A tonic victory in football against Killenaule will help the mood around Templemore. Down 3
8. Drom & Inch – The first time in the top 8 for the Drom side. Like all 2nd placed teams would be hoping to have avoided the prelim but here they are. A good draw for both sides. Drom will fancy beating Clonoulty. Seamie Callanan (2-20) still the leader but green shoots elsewhere else. Up 3

| Nenagh Eire Óg | 62 | 5-47 | 20.67 |
| Toomevara | 63 | 4-51 | 21.00 |
| Borrisoleigh | 67 | 4-55 | 22.33 |
| Cashel KC | 68 | 2-62 | 22.67 |
| Loughmore/Castleiney | 69 | 4-57 | 23.00 |

| Clonoulty/Rossmore | 83 | 5-68 | 27.67 |
| CJK Mullinahone | 88 | 6-70 | 29.33 |
| JK Brackens | 89 | 7-68 | 29.67 |
| Lorrha/Dorrha | 102 | 8-78 | 34.00 |
7. Kilruane McDonaghs – Kilruane won in Round 3 and did so without Jerry Cahill and lost Craig Morgan along the way. That makes it all the more impressive. Seem to have a good panel. They are potentially a semi-final team and yet they might not even make it past the quarters. Need the 2 boys fully fit. No Change
6. Nenagh Eire Óg – The Round 1 over Thurles is the reason they are in the quarters. It set them up well. Hard to guage against Mullinahone in Round 3. 14 Scorers so far. They were always expected to win. On paper a cracking team. On Paper Up 3
5. Cashel King Cormacs – A brilliant year for the West men, got better when they weren’t pulled out for a Preliminary Quarter Final. The 3 week break will help hugely with getting bodies a break, Although Oisin O’Donoghue (0-04 from play,so far) will have no such break. The Club are flying, U17s & U19s winning West Titles, U19s beating 4 ina row chasing Holycross to make an u19 County Final, Juniors in a West final and Seniors in a Dan Breen Quarter. Up 3
4. Toomevara – Beware the wounded dog. Toome are back with a bang. How dare we question them and drop them down the table. Roared back against Kiladangan. Threw that monkey off their back in a fiery Dolla performance. The slower field and ball is only playing into their hands. Second best Defence,Third Best attack. Up 1
3. Moycarkey/Borris – Already qualified they weren’t at their best in Round 3. Always hard to guage a Team in that scenario. Teams look at it different. Moycarkey are in good form though. Will need more help for Kieran Morris who has 2-25 scored, 2-05 from play No Change
2. Holycross/Ballycahill – Like Moycarkey hard to judge in Round 3. Had their work done, rested lads for an U19 semi-final and others who needed the break. 15 Scorers in Total. The Quarter-final will tell if our confidence in them is justified. Paddy Power has no doubts about them. No Change
1. Loughmore/Castleiney – It isn’t even a debate. Just went unbeaten in the Round Robin again in both the Senior Football and Senior Hurling. Week on week they just produce. We are in awe…. Can they keep it up ?… A question on everyone’s lips. One Small Dark Cloud on the Horizon, How significant is Noel McGraths football inflicted injury ? No Change
