Senior Hurling Power Rankings 1-16.
- Loughmore/Castleiney – They just keep rolling. No matter the code. Talks of a slowdown were firmly put to bed by half time in round 2. A superb performance in front of a national audience. Firm favourites to retain. No Change
- Holycross/Ballycahill – NKOTB are back (Kids, ask yer Mothers who NKOTB were). The new kids are really making waves. Added Kiladangan to the Toome scalp. Darragh Woods, Mikie Nally & Robbie Ryan all in flying form. Still no Bryan O’Mara and a Quarter final secured. Watch out world. Up 1
- Moycarkey/Borris – Another qualified with something to spare. Semi-finalists last year and looking good again in 2025. Is this an Eddie Brennan swansong with Kilkenny duties incoming? Kiwi Morris in outstanding form. Up 2
- Kiladangan – We still have them up here. Play old rivals Toome this weekend in what should be the tie of the round. It won’t be lost on them that they can give Toome an early Championship shower. But they also have a Prelim to fall back on if it’s not going well. Down 2
- Thurles Sarsfields – Stuttered again V Mullinahone before winning. Darragh Stakelum in good form. Always hard to rule out the pre-champ favourites. A win over Cashel and a Quarter-final spot could really set fire to their year. Up 3
- JK Brackens – Two defeats to Loughmore in a week in either code will be a bitter pill to swallow. The mid champions have a Prelim to fall back on but will be hoping not to need it. A reset following the Loughmore trouncing no doubt. Drom will be no pushover in another Mid derby. No Change
- Kilruane McDonaghs – Look best placed to come out of the group. Should have too much for Roscrea. Will need to be on top form though. No Change
- Cashel King Cormacs – A huge win over Nenagh in round 2. With Senior status secured and a swing at Thurles incoming. The Connollys are in great form while the Brownes produced in the second half the last day. Wonder will we see Shane Neville this weekend?. Up 3
- Nenagh Eire Og – Will Mullinahone smell a win. Nenagh will need to get Jake & Sam more involved. 2-13 wasn’t good scoring for the talent they have. Down 5
- Toomevara – Much improved against a failing Clonoulty side. Again the full-back line looked in trouble early but steadied. Controlled the game thereafter. Need to eventually get over the line against Kiladangan. Is this the weekend? The parish can’t comprehend another loss. Down 1
- Drom & Inch – Have performed well in both games so far. 3-24 v Lorrha is excellent scoring. Will relish a tilt at the mid champions. Seamie Callanan still the complete leader for them. Down 1
- Borris-Ileigh – Won’t have been happy with the draw against Roscrea. Roscrea have the score difference on them at the moment too. A second year in the relegation mire won’t go down well. Moycarkey are qualified and will Borris go after them early. No Change
- Lorrha/Dorrha – A really good performance should possibly have reaped more. Unfortunately it didn’t and relegation battles beckon again. Have shown they have scoring power. Need to tighten up at the back. Dead Rubber V Loughmore. Up 2
- Clonoulty/Rossmore – The West Champions will play knockout hurling courtesy of the prelim safety net but won’t be happy that unless Dan Breen goes West with them, they have a relegation battle also. Need more help for Stephen Ferncombe and Mikie Winnie. Down 1
- Mullinahone – Nenagh is the best third round draw for them is it? A win could see them survive. Injuries are taking their toll though. Down 1
- Roscrea – Will be happy with the draw against fellow north men Borris and have another divisional rival in Kilruane to come. Will need big performances from Alan & Darragh Tynan. A win will see them survive. What a turn up that will be. No Change
